COVID-19 Interim Plan for students & members.

May 7, 2020

I hope you are well and safe during these trying and unprecedented times. We are healthy here and we want to keep everyone we come in contact with healthy as well. Because your health and safety is our first concern, we have a few updates on how we will move forward.

In accordance with the Executive Orders set forth by our governor, we are closed to all in-studio classes and studio-time work. We will open up as soon as possible after the orders are lifted and it is safe to do so. We are making every effort to provide a safe environment for us all to create in our shared studio space. We are implementing some new practices and fortunately, we were already following several safety practices as normal studio policies.

As for the halt of business that happened in March, 2020, we had completed the 2nd week of our classes. Therefore, when we re-open, those students that were currently enrolled and taking classes will receive the next open course session at no charge and may enter any available class that fits your schedules. You will receive priority on our course schedules. Any students who dropped the class on or before March 14 are considered withdrawn and are not eligible for any class compensation for future classes.

We were half way through the studio membership month. For those members that have picked up their clay, you are all set and can bring back the pieces you made when ready. For the members that have opted not to pick up any clay or tools to create at home, the option is still there. Please email me to arrange a time for safe pick-up. I am allowing studio members to create at home and bring pieces made with the clay from March back to the studio for firing. I am also offering wheel rental for current studio members (contract and rental fees apply), purchase additional clay, and create from home. Firing fees will apply to additional clay purchases.

For members who purchased a 3 month membership, you can arrange a time to pick up remaining clay, a new box of clay for the month, as well as tools to work from home. Of course, you are able to rent a wheel as well. Working from your home studio and bringing pieces back for firing will be in lieu of a month of studio membership.

It is hard to know what is the right thing to do in these unprecedented times and we are making every effort to accommodate and fairly compensate our students and members. For those members that opt out of working from home, we will resume your membership where we left off . We are making efforts to keep clay moist and we are doing what we can to keep projects in process the right consistency but we make no guarantee on them. The good thing is that you can always reclaim it. :)

We appreciate your patience and understanding. I miss my pottery family! My love to you all until we meet again, SOON!
